Welcome to Aikido Leicester! Wanting to find out about Aikido? Live in Leicestershire or nearby? AikidoLeicester.co.uk is run by members of the Leicester Branch of Shin Gi Tai Aikido (our parent association) so that we have a place to tell you about the great Aikido club we belong to and give you an opportunity to find out what this Aikido martial art thing is all about.
If you are new to aikido then please try a free aikido class - and if you find out that you like it and would like more tuition then our classes have a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and visitors and beginners alike are always taken care of. Dr Neil Dixon (6th Dan Shin Gi Tai Aikido and 6th Dan Dai Nippon Butoku Kai) We are very fortunate in having an excellent teacher who has over 20 years of training in Aikido and having attained 6th Dan in Shin Gi Tai has recently been awarded 6th Dan in Kyoto, Japan, by the renowned All Japan martial arts association, the Dai Nippon Butoku Kai. Dr Neil Dixon is well known in Aikido circles as a gentle giant and although he is taller, stronger and bigger than most people his techniques are always controlled, effortless and expertly blending with his oponents. ... Weekend Long Training Seminar |
週末合宿 - Syuumatsu GashuukuLive in Training - 7th to 8th MarchMarket Harborough
Leicester Shin Gi Tai host a weekend long (live in) training session known in Japan as a 'Gashuuku'. A chance for 2 full days training with some experienced people in a small group. We have guest instructors some of whom will be there with us for the whole weekend. Accomodation is minimal but free. Training - Ukemi
- Weopons - kumi jo and kata
- Different styles -Aikikai NZ, Aikikai UKA, Kobayashi and Shin Gi Tai
- Talks principles and history of Aikido
